    • Harvest Winemaker (Final, started as skilled cellar hand)
      • Aug 2009 - Dec 2012

Began in Aug '09 under Peter Devison (now WM at Efeste), and progressed to Assistant for the next two years. During this period I was often responsible for overseeing day to day ops at Willow Crest, as well as assisting at the Alder Ridge production facility. - Early '12 I took a sabbatical to Australia, for travel and experience, to work another harvest, this time to Western Australia, at Wise and Larry Cherubino Wines. Returned to Willow Crest August '12 to run the facility for that harvest. Responsible for planning, ordering goods and coordinating all harvest activities as well as physically doing a good portion of the work myself with my crew of 5. Total production for the year was nearly 1900 tons. I left before Christmas of '12 to live with my fiancé in the Seattle area. Show less

Began my winemaking education when I moved to Walla Walla WA, attending classes at the Center for Viticulture and Enology. Despite enjoying the experience and exemplary grades, I left the program early to gain more hands on experience, traveling to Australia to work at First Creek Wine Centre in Hunter Valley in January of 2008. I worked a full harvest season there and then moved right on to another at Vavasour Wines in Marlborough New Zealand. Upon return to the US and Walla Walla in the summer of 2008, I helped a good friend from the winemaking program launch his family's small winery. For the next 9 months I worked at a local fine dining restaurant, experiencing wine and food to the fullest, and working where I could in local wineries to continue learning. Show less
