Electrical and Instrument Technician

Jun 2005 - Sep 2012
At TED I completed a full apprenticeship. My role was an Electrical and Instrument Technician, my allocated work load was divided between West Burton and Cottam power stations. This included 1 year working with Alstom on the CCGT West Burton B site where I was involved with the final site electrical and instrument modifications and Instrument commissioning. During my time at West Burton and Cottam coal fired Power Stations I was part of a part of a multi skilled maintenance team and completed 6 major outages, the work I was involved with was electrical and instrument installation and maintenance. The work involved maintenance of boiler instruments such as acoustics, carbon dioxide probes, thermocouples and the zirconia oxygen monitoring system, I was also involved with the unit laboratory analyzers and the site effluent water treatment system they include PH, sodium, hydrazine, silica and chlorine analyzers which were controlled from a SCADA system.
