Brought in $1.2 million in revenue to the newspaper after authoring legislation to hold a student referendum in February 2016 to fund the newspaper. Increased annual budget from $4,000 to $350,000 and returned The Aggie to print publication after the paper had been online-only from 2014-2016. Hired Editorial Board and Managing Staff and oversaw full staff of 120 students. Implemented staff pay (including non-managing staff) for the first time in 5 years and created over 60 paid student jobs. Initiated the creation of the California Aggie Newspaper Digitization Fund to finance the digitization of the paper's 102 years' worth of microfilm archives to make them accessible and searchable online. Personally sold over $20,000 in advertising space while restructuring and revamping the paper's advertising department. I hired a full-time business development/advertising manager to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
