Ben Robbins
Scott Dillon was a pivotal member to the Nitride Epi team. Scott often exuded patience, where others would not, to bring team members up to speed through education and demonstration. In addition to Scott's standard duties he also volunteered for the dual task of Equipment Engineer where he became an invaluable asset to sustaining engineering and development. Scott puts all his effort into every task working with the attitude that nothing is impossible.

Developed unified database for several semiconductor device production processes enabling tracking a multitude of different production and experimental runs. Using consumer barcode printers and 2D scanners, created a fully automated process validation and parts tracking system, completely eliminating errors in parts assignment and data entry. As process owner for MOCVD/MOVPE tool, led a team of engineers through a complete teardown and rebuild, resulting in defect reduction of 10x and corresponding increase in process yield. Designed and wrote software to create and manipulate x-ray topography images from raw data; a capability unavailable even to the x-ray tool manufacturer. Developed Excel 2D mapping software enabling faster, easier, and more accurate data- driven decisions. Wrote and developed probe station drivers to reduce testing and data wrangling time by 85%. Using Python/Flask, created a company intranet site allowing real-time charting and report generation. Managed transition from web services provider to Gmail for Business/Google Apps. Managed the operation of multiple process tools while simultaneously incorporating design and process changes in order to continually increase crystal yield and size. As a member of the safety team I developed our lockout/tagout procedures. I assembled and maintained process tools including setting up maintenance schedules, maintaining UHV pumps and equipment, building custom electrical hardware and was responsible for facility build-out for tool installation. I wrote procedures for crystal growth process as well as equipment and maintenance procedures. Seeing the need for a multiple platform process data entry method I initiated, designed and programmed a SQL database and browser based data entry application.
