It is my honor to share the distinct pleasure I had working with Scott Cernigoj on the construction of the $200 Million West Los Angeles Veteran Home Of California from 2007 through 2010. I was the project manager and Scott was the Project Engineer, Scott demonstrated leadership by having the owner’s team focused on the proactive mitigation of project challenges and expediting of all the possible delays. This required an inventive approach to provide creative and intelligent solutions to all the project challenges, and further more demonstrated his people skills along with his ability to achieve consensus and not dissent on difficult issues. When Scott was assigned to my job he demonstrated to me and to the company higher management officials his high intelligent capabilities and his super fast abilities to learn all the new subjects that he was never introduced to before, he also was able to accomplish all the position requirements in less than half the time it takes any normal engineer, which gave him the ability to be a self motivated personal. Scott always gave and received the utmost respect from a diverse customer base, meeting the needs of the owner, the sub contractors, and inspectors in an uncompromisingly fair manner. Scott embodied dedication with a first to arrive and last to leave work ethic. I recall receiving Emails on Sunday so that work could flow on Monday mornings. Scott’s commitment to excellence showcased the personal integrity required to complete a project successfully and couldn’t hope for a more qualified representative on a high profile public works project.
