Developed and implemented a Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) simulation tool as a service line for clients specialized to analyzing SAGD and Truck and Shovel Oil Sands operations. This tool was used to provide RAM studies for numerous heavy oil projects (SAGD and Mining) in Alberta. The studies involved review of the client P&IDs and equipment datasheets, analyzing equipment and process failure modes, simulating the plant operations statistically to make recommendations regarding design changes to increase productivity, warehouse stocking levels for critical pieces of equipment, and critical equipment and process that require additional attention for maintenance and operations planning. Responsible for the R&D of a diesel package burner from concept to manufacturing prototype, including preparation of manufacturing drawings through the use of SolidWorks, selection of equipment, PLC programming and CFD analysis to ensure proper mixing characteristics. Design and commissioning of camp waste incinerators with scrubber systems in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Mexico. I was responsible for 3D modeling, preparing manufacturing drawings, P&IDs, and datasheets. The design of a novel enclosed flare system for use in oil field applications in BC and Alberta was completed by me. A failed prototype was used as a model, modeled in 3D, mixing issues were solved using CFD analysis, and then the modified design was successfully tested and taken to commercialization with multiple units being delivered to clients.
