Whilst working at Metro Printing I have experienced many different areas of the business, I have worked in the finishing department and the design and repro department. I have also been in the sales department which has enabled me to see how all parts of the business run and following a product through from the beginning all the way to when the product gets delivered. Metro has given me many new skills as I was given the opportunity to create social media for the company. Working in a pub environment has given me an opportunity to grow and develop skills. I was able to grow my customer service skills whilst working in this environment, there were a few situations where I had to think about how to best resolve the problem without causing to many issues for others and those who I was working with. Whilst only being there for a short amount of time I was able to quickly see how the business was run and could then compare it to other businesses and how they run, by using my degree I was able to see how each part of the business was run. Teaching and helping to develop younger children’s dance abilities has really helped to boost my confidence. It has given me many skills including initiative, motivation, being self-motivated, quick thinker, being able to teach a class of young children. Also I was given the opportunity to take a group of children to perform in the West End, I was in charge of a group of small children and had to make sure that I was constantly on my feet and thinking ahead. I gained many skills like working in a team and how to self-motivate on late night shifts. I worked as a waitress for many events including weddings, parties and corporate events. Whilst working these events I was able to gain skills needed for customer service and how to serve a paying customer.
