I worked with Steven on many complex data analytical projects for clients and always found him to be a highly reliable and conscientious member of the team. With extensive data scientist knowledge and experience to call upon, this ensured any tasks assigned to Steven were always completed quickly and efficiently. Steven has a very pleasant manner when dealing with clients and colleagues alike, this attribute coupled with his strong work ethos made him a valuable asset to the team.

Steven is one of those people that you can depend on to dig in and get a job done. He does a lot of self development and research, and applies his new found knowledge to any challenge he is presented with. He is a great team player and would be an asset to any organisation

Sumerian provide analytics to companies allowing them to understand their IT environments. I joined as a data analyst, monitoring files from clients and working on integrations to allow the data scientists to analyse and report on the data. However soon after joining I was asked to step in to cover analysis for a premium client. Due to my success producing quarterly, monthly and weekly report for this client I was promoted to data scientist within six months of joining. My role now consists of working with several premium clients, producing regular reports on their IT infrastructures or maintaining and improving self service portals Sumerian provide. I produce reports using various tools including Excel, Tableau and SQL Management Studio/Reporting Services. Show less

In this role I supported various work streams within Security & Risk, including fraud and physical security, and created SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. Having completed a training on SQL Server 2008 R2 with QA I quickly put what I learned into practice Integration Services (SSIS) to feed data into a Data Warehouse and transaction tables. So I could complete the above tasks I was responsible for understanding the stakeholders’ requirements along with my teams internal processes and controls. Prior to this training my main responsibilities were automating existing Excel reports in Report builder 2.0 (RB2) and training colleagues on how to use it too. For those who were less technically minded that initially didn’t grasp some of the new concepts I arranged one to one coaching sessions and made myself available as a point of contact. Show less

In this role I was a member of a team that resolved customer complaints ahead of FSA regulated guidelines for Tesco Bank customers (then part of RBS). To ensure that the business looked for ways to improve and treat customers fairly my role evolved. I led a team which analysed the root cause of complaints and compiled the data in a MI report using Excel for senior management and Tesco Bank head office. Some other members of the MI team were not familiar with the functionality of Excel so part of my role was to coach them to feel comfortable with the software. On a weekly basis I met with members of centre management to discuss what changes could be implemented to reduce the number of complaints made by customers. I regularly adapted this report to meet the changing needs of the stakeholders and the business. I was also tasked with several work streams to support my team and centre such as championing the employee engagement survey and producing a centre wide wellbeing newsletter. Show less
