I worked with Steve for over 18 years at MediaNews Group (a billion dollar revenue company) where Steve was the tax director and vice president of tax. I highly recommend Steve and his skills as a tax professional. Steve’s tax planning and analysis was instrumental in structuring numerous financing as well as acquisition and disposition transactions and creating structures to minimize current and future cash taxes. Steve provided valuable insight in managing MediaNews Group’s complex legal structure which included numerous corporations, partnerships, and LLCs and did a great job in minimizing federal state and local taxes in a complex corporate structure. Steve managed a lean tax department and was able to achieve outstanding results in tax compliance and planning. Steve also has expert knowledge in accounting for income taxes, including the quarterly and annual tax provisions and the required financial disclosures. When audited by federal, state or local tax authorities, Steve and his tax team provided MediaNews with audit results that produced minimal audit adjustments.
