      Research topic: A single capacitor commutation method for multiphase current source inverters. -In traditional current source inverters(CSI), for example in ASCII type CSI, six capacitors are used for the purpose of commutation of thyristors along with six diodes. The aim of this project/research was to reduce the number of capacitors and diodes in order to construct a cost-effective CSI. Also when this proposed CSI was used as an induction motor drive, the power factor of the IM was improved. Show less
