The project provided increased knowledge about what parameters are essential for moving towards smart and sustainable energy use in Norwegian cities and how these can be linked to the planning, operation and monitoring of new or existing neighborhoods. This project was a collaboration between the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and SINTEF in close cooperation with the Norwegian municipalities of Bergen and Oslo, Standard Norge, FutureBuilt, the Norwegian Green Building Council, the European Innovation Platform on Smart Cities and Communities, EERA Joint Programme Smart Cities, and non-European partners such as China, Japan, Australia and South-Korea.
