Assistant Camp Director

I worked at Camp Grove Point as the Assistant Camp Director. At Grove Point, my main responsibility was to support the unit staff: unit counselors, unit leaders, and junior counselors. We had weekly/biweekly staff evaluations to track success and growth and to best support each of them. I also drove the day camp van to pick-up/drop-off day campers each week. In the absence of the director, I fulfilled her duties. I worked at Camp Grove Point as the Assistant Camp Director. In between engineering classes, I tutored other Armstrong students in math (basic to Calculus III), physics (both trigonometry- and calculus-based), and engineering (MATLAB, graphics, dynamics, statics, etc). In addition to working in the tutoring centers, I had a classroom reserved where students would visit me to ask specific questions about the class I worked with. The class and professor I worked with changed every semester: Pre-calculus, Trig-based physics, intro to coding for engineers. This was one of the most rewarding work experiences! I worked with the Engineering and Education departments to tutor and mentor a handful of elementary students. I visited Spencer Elementary twice a week to work with six students on their math skills and introduced them to fun engineering activities. This was one of the most rewarding work experiences! My first Girl Scout job! My staff and I worked at two GSHG camps: Camp Low in Savannah and Camp Tanglewood in Augusta. I supervised campers day and night. I also helped develop/deliver program to my units. As lifeguard, I facilitated pool activities and helped to maintain the pools. My first Girl Scout job!
