Saurabh was one of my favorite managers I've had. He did a great job of balancing the needs of the business with caring for his people. Here are some reasons that I believe Saurabh is so great: - Cares about employees: I always felt like Saurabh cared about me personally. It mattered to him that I was okay, in our 1:1s he always started with whatever I wanted to talk about, he helped me progress towards my career goals, was excited for me in my success and accomplishments, and even recognized me and the value I added through a company channel. - Constructive people manager: Not only does he value and recognize employees well and provide them opportunities to grow, increasing loyalty and engagement, he also passes on feedback well, works with the employee to improve, gives suggestions and clear steps for improvement and correction, gains buy-in by explaining why and how the steps, even an overcorrection, is useful to clear up an issue, and praises and gives clarity when improvement is made and/or potential issue is past. It feels like he's working with you. - Managing needs of business: While I didn't see behind-the-scenes work, I saw how he prioritized and balanced the needs of the business with our needs. While he helped us pursue our interests and gave as much opportunity as he could, he also kept aligned with the needs of the business, and helped us stay aligned by expressing this balance and need with us. He always made sure things were okay from a business perspective, while getting us on board with clarity and understanding. - Process Improvement: He was always looking for ways to make things better and improve our processes. He encouraged us in our ideas and interests to make improvements, removed obstacles in our path, looked into solutions, and often worked cross-functionally across the org to make improvements, handle requests, and overall do anything he could to bring greater quality as a department and organization and empower us to do the same. I strongly recommend him, both to someone looking to work under him, and to those hiring him or currently working with him, as a people manager and in engineering and QE management, or honestly anything he aspires to. He is someone I admire and I am grateful for the time we worked together.

Saurabh is a standout engineering manager that helps companies take their quality to the next level. I had the pleasure of hiring Saurabh to take my spot as our quality engineering manager at FloQast and we worked together for many years after on the same management team. We knew this was a key hire, that we had to get it right, and Saurabh exceeded all of our expectations. Not only was Saurabh extremely technical and a master of craft, which brought immediate credibility to the role and his team, but he also showed great range in working with SDET’s of all levels, from entry to staff level engineers. Under Saurabh’s management, our development teams were able to regularly achieve 20+ deploys a day while maintaining our quality bar by coordinating and building out an extensive collection of automation test suites. The thing that really stood out the most to me during our time together, though, was the amount of gratitude Saurabh expressed to those he worked with in each and every meeting and that no task was ever beneath him as he always looked out for his team. Saurabh is a rare find, and any company should move with haste to bring a talent like his onboard.
