Have known Professor Saumya Ranjan Dash first as an exceptional case writer (at IBSCDC, where I had the pleasure of working with him), then as a devout researcher (at IIT Kharagpur's VGSOM) and then as an outstanding faculty and a great institutional builder. All these years there are four facets that have kept him ahead of the pack and makes him highly sought-after. I feel privileged to be a student of Prof. Saumya and to learn Management Accounting from him at IIM Indore. It would be an understatement to say that his knowledge in Finance and Accounting is profound. Despite his deep knowledge of the subject, he has a distinctive flair for explaining complex concepts simply. He makes his class very interesting through relatable examples and encourages us to think from the first principles. His lectures were full of thought-provoking use cases from various industries, which helped us relate the financial concepts to business decisions and its outcome. With almost no experience in accounting, I was worried that I might not be able to follow his lecture thoroughly. My cohort included people from all walks of life who also had an endless line of questions. It is commendable how patiently and calmly did he answer each of us. He ensures that no student leaves the class with any doubts. He was also spontaneous to explain the same concept in multiple ways to bring clarity. To oversee the Courses Committee activities, development, and implementation of long-term plans for curriculum as well as instructional evaluation and improvement. My role was to drive best practices/processes relating to operations to achieve excellence and monitor the effectiveness of the Assurance of Learning (AoL) System of the Institute. To maintain international student exchange collaborations with foreign partner universities and to execute Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program. During my tenure as the Chairperson, I was responsible for the academic, admission, student activity, and placement process for this flagship programme. During my tenure, in 2021 the institute entered the Financial Times (FT Executive MBA) ranking for the first time (5th B-schools from India, and the fourth IIM). Academic and operational responsibility includes my involvement in the executive committee, courses committee, international immersion module, AACSB AOL mapping and review, AACSB Compliance, GMAC membership compliance, and admission committee review and candidate shortlisting. I was responsible for the design and execution of the Advanced Leadership Programme as part of the international immersion module for IIM Indore EPGP along with the partner university SDA Bocconi, Millan Italy. Responsible for the smooth execution of online academic delivery best practices, strategic initiatives for curriculum management, and participant engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic uncertainties.

IIM Indore had launched a one-year weekend GMPE programme in the year 2016. As GMPE first batch coordinator, I was responsible for the curriculum design and program delivery. Being part of a new program development and its execution process was a valuable experience.
