  • Analyze the technical details like; working principle, functional parameters, materials, etc. of parts / products of Atlas Copco & provide them correct HS code as per European, Indian, USA & Chinese customs & WTO guidelines. • Understand the logic behind The General Rules for the Interpretation (GRI) of the Harmonized System, also known as the General Interpretative Rules (GIR). • Performing technical data research from provided internal databases/PDM-PLM systems, SAP, BPCS, ACDC, credible and knowledgeable internet sources, and supplier websites to determine correct tariff codes. • Referring and interpreting product drawings, GRI rules, Customs ruling, explanatory notes to determine correct classification. • Daily basis reporting to service centers mainly in Europe, USA & India as well as other customer centers & product companies of Atlas Copco group globally. • Daily communicating with project engineers, purchaser and suppliers for getting the technical details required to provide HS Code. • Assigning HS codes using BTI and US rulings for EU and USA. • Preparing technical write-ups of the parts/products to resolve the technical queries/issues raised by customs authorities. • Following standard work process for classification purpose and maintaining a classification database with legal references. • Determining Combined Nomenclature (CN) and Taric Code for EU region, HSN and GST for India, HSN and SVE for China and HTSUS and Schedule B Code for USA. • Assisting project leaders to assign correct HS codes in Material Creation Process (MCP). • Daily checking and updating accurate HS codes in PDM-PLM systems (Windchill) and SAP. • Daily quality check of classified materials and conducting trainings for new users. • Analyzing KPI reports and addressing problems and challenges. • Classification experience mainly of Mechanical and Electrical parts/products.
