I reported directly to Sargon at Velocity Trade. Sargon's management skills and style made for a positive and successful environment. Under Sargon's leadership we managed to successfully build and grow the Velocity Client base. Sargon creates a positive office culture and I genuinely enjoyed working with and reporting directly to Sargon. Sargon has deep knowledge of financial markets and knows how to add value to a brand, product and business. I would recommend Sargon to anyone and hope to work with him again one day.

I had the pleasure of working with Sargon while I was still at M&C Saatchi and then afterwards when CMC Markets was a direct client of mine. Sargon is insightful, intuitive and intelligent. And most importantly, he's a great guy. You don't feel as if you work for him, you feel as if you work with him.

In 2006 I launched our Auckland branch and successfully grew the CFD market in New Zealand. Setting up a new office, hiring staff, obtaining regulatory approval and managing all aspects of the business specifically, sales and marketing. Between 2006 and 2008 I helped to establish the new CFD products in New Zealand and grew the business from zero to having over five thousand clients and having a strong brand awareness within the trading community both english and chinese speaking. This included regular appearances in the media and having the New Zealand business be profitable within six months of establishing the business in Auckland.I had Joined CMC in 1998 when it was a small company with only 30 people and was part of the phenomenal growth of the company, which at its peak in 2008 had over 23 office with over 1000 staff and was by most measures the biggest CFD/FX provider globally. I held several roles within CMC Markets before relocating to Auckland in 2006. Between 1998 and 2006 I managed the trading infrastructure of the company that included the networks, internet connections, IT security and managing the global network. I was involved in upgrading the infrastructure of the trading platform from a single server Visual Basic application in 1998 to a server farm with over 100 servers, complex redundancy and global coverage and Oracle databases and servers running Windows and Linux with C and Java based parallel applications. Trading activity growth was dramatic and availability and responsiveness of the trading platform was critical to CMC Markets business.

Then known as Sema Group it was a Anglo French software development company. I was team leader for a software development team producing health care administration systems to regional health authorities. Sema Group provided solutions to manage hospital admission and billing for regional health authorities under the then developing purchaser provider model. I managed the team, developing the system as well as testing and installing the system at customer sites. Sema Group had approx 12 clients for the system and part of the role was to provide third level support and manage bugs and enhancement request. As well as developing and supporting the system with a team of 5, I supported the sales team with demonstration and technical backup to potential clients. The company adhered to then emerging development standards like SSADM and ISO9000 and this give me the knowledge and discipline to work within a large software development teams using standard based documentation and management.
