This was one of my first real exposures to marketing, and I loved it! I assisted with the marketing and promotion for Top Dog Theatre’s production of The Tempest in 2014. Tasks included creating their online social media presense and promoting the event through social media marketing, aiding in organising and attending an interview at CTV, and taking the lead role in organising an editorial on Top Dog in The Star and radio coverage on More FM. I created and maintained their Facebook and Twitter account, and utilised these to engage with customers in a creative and friendly way. I also managed the daily operations of these accounts and the creative content within them. Show less

This was a very brief but very interesting section of my volunteer work, and one that would change the way I viewed marketing forever. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to shadow one of Saatchi and Saatchi's Account Executives. This involved attending a variety of meetings with other members of their advertising teams and ended with seeing a very inspirational speech my Kevin Roberts. The main project I was a part of was the initial stages of an advertising campaign for the Breast Cancer Research Trust, who aim to find a cure for cancer and raise money to do so. This gave me my first real taste of advertising, and I loved it! Show less

An extremely varied role! I primarily dealt with administrative duties, ranging from typing dictated letters to organising filling systems, but this job also offered me my first real taste of marketing. I helped with the development of a new marketing campaign and website for Nicola Blakely, who owned an interior design website. This involved tasks such as target market identification and exploring options for funding. I also put my accounting skills to good use and was invited to complete some basic accounting tasks. This well rounded job was the perfect introduction to a business environment. Show less
