aequa is a community for social equity — a network of people united by our shared vision of a world in which everyone can thrive. We focus on mutual aid and solidarity work that meets people's material and emotional needs. Together, we explore both our individual potential and our collective power. The aequa Workshops Collective comprises a group of experienced facilitators with a diverse range of backgrounds, identities, experiences, and expertise. We teach workshops for companies, organisations on topics such as allyship, unconscious bias, conscious communication, human-centered behavioral design, inclusive organisational design, life design, inclusive leadership and facilitation practices and more. BCA e.V. exists to provide aid to individuals impacted financially by the impacts of the COVID-19 economy, in particular those without access to other means of (especially financial) support. BCA started when folks from organizations like aequa, POLY. Artists and DOGMA, came together with members from different collectives (Berlin Strippers' Collective, Host Aware, Lecken, Room 4 Resistance, Radiant Love, TS Raver, Trans Feminism International and TUF to name a few), to come up with a swift way of redistributing much-needed resources and support to those in our queer nightlife communities most severely impacted by the crisis — precarious low-income workers, non-EU migrants and people of color, trans- and gender non-conforming people, sex workers, those with pre-existing conditions who may therefore be more socially isolated, and those for whom alternative systems of support (whether state-provided or familial) do not generally exist. Where government support fails we try to step in and offer some financial relief to applicants so they can pay rent, their health insurance or buy food. Our financial aid and resource sharing is here to create breathing space for individuals so that they can take their next steps in this crisis.
