Working closely with a Senior Equity Specialist, and collaboratively with the broader PRD team, the responsibilities include: • Production of Vanguard Fund and ETF competitive analysis and support of Fund Health reviews. • Preparing presentations for internal and external client meetings, webinars, and ad hoc client collateral. • Supporting the development and production of thought leadership pieces (e.g., response to market events, index rebalances, competitor landscape summaries). • Shadowing and then taking responsibility for responding to client product queries as part of managing the PRD database. • Supporting and contributing to existing or new in-flight projects, including equity index and ETF focused projects run out of our research function. Through this rotation I am learning to build product, ESG and investment knowledge, enhance my analytical skills and insights into product management capabilities, learn to use third party fintech platforms (i.e., Bloomberg terminal, Factset, Morningstar) for analysis and develop key relationships across the organisation.

The Corporate Secretarial function supports the boards (and selected committees) of Vanguard’s entities in the UK and Ireland in complying with their statutory and regulatory obligations, and provides governance advice based on applicable regulatory and statutory requirements and best practice guidance. Board and committee activity is continuous and high profile, both in terms of senior crew involvement and active regulator scrutiny. In this role I helped with: • Creating a “Sourcebook” for the UK Boards, in the model of the Group Board Sourcebook, to provide an overview of Board duties under applicable laws and regulations. • Enhancing the Governance pages on Sharepoint to add new content, update existing content and improve layout. • Mapping out (and helping implement) the governance of the UK entities following the changes in UK Boards’, and associated committees’, composition which will come into effect in 2023. • Assisting in the design and implementation of a revised operating model for all European boards. This rotation provided valuable exposure to the workings of our European governance structures at the highest level and played a key role in introducing efficiencies in how these structures are advised and supported.
