Sarah joined the ORCID team with the mission to transform and scale our operations, reporting in to the Executive Director. Her first goal was to convert the organization from cash-based to accrual accounting, which she addressed head on. From there, she led the automation of a number of critical workflows, from invoicing to renewals, working across the organization to ensure these processes flowed from community through to staff, and engaged the core information platforms. In addition to financials, Sarah was also in charge of HR and onboarded over a dozen staff from over a dozen countries, assisting with job posting, and deftly navigating local employment requirements. She was also in charge of managing internal information platforms. Over her tenure at ORCID, she built an effective team that supported these activities, including moving from external to internal accounting, managing our annual audit process, regular Board reporting, and more recently, working with the Board and staff to create a risk register. Sarah did her work with a specific eye to detail and was a trusted member of the ORCID management team.

I worked with Sarah at ORCID for a little over three years in total, including two plus years when we were both on the directors team. During the time we worked together, I found her to be very well-organized and reliable. I was impressed by her ability to deal calmly and competently with a range of operational issues and questions - from the simple to the complex - whether at a Board meeting or when engaging with an individual staff member. She has an excellent understanding of the needs of a nonprofit organization, and she is consistently approachable and responsive - an asset to any organization!
