Sure Start Children's Centre Manager
-
Sep 2010 - Jul 2015
Management of two Merton Children’s Centres Lower Morden and The Avenue. I was responsible for the day to day running of both centres duties include carrying out risk assessments, ensuring the centres were fit for purpose, managing annual budget, liaising with partner services, responding to user feedback, sitting on the panel of our local allocation network meetings, organising team meeting/events and ensuring resources are ordered when needed. I was line manager to six members of staff, in this role I managed annual leave and sickness, carried out regular supervisions and annual appraisals. The other side of my role required me to work with vunerable families on a one to one basis in their homes and also at the centres. I was able to facilitate speech and language support groups for children under 5yrs and Incredible years parenting programme for parents/carers. I was very passionate about the role of Childrens Centres within the community and making a difference to the lives of local families. Show less
