Bio
Colleen Hogan
Sarah Ward worked at Master Maths Rosebank as a part-time tutor for 4 years while studying at the University of the Witwatersrand. Sarah worked in both our Maths and Science departments, teaching up to Matric level. Her subject knowledge in both disciplines was excellent, as was her ability to disseminate this knowledge to learners of varying abilities. Sarah was at all times punctual, professional and a great team-player. She was also patient and empathetic in her attitude to her students and I would not hesitate to recommend her for any position working with children and young adults. I believe Sarah has the ability to fulfil her ambitions in her chosen career and wish her the very best, both professionally and personally.
Alexandra Clark
Sarah is off the scale re the speed with which she grasps and masters complex problems with little no guidance. She recently helped us with a complex technical issue the team had grappled with for some time. It took virtually no technical orientation, yet within a couple of days she had identified and assessed multiple approaches. Just great to work with, and a real talent for any team taking on the hardest technical issues.

Think3Dots is a small consulting company, run by an ex-Lecturer of mine, that focuses on delivering high-end software solutions to meet their clients needs. My work for Think3Dots consists of developing bespoke software solutions on a project-by-project basis. Past and current projects include the optimisation of code (C++), development of mobile applications (JavaScript), and development of web applications (Ruby and Python). Projects have all been commercially released or are in development. In all cases I have project managed (scoping, planning, client liaison, etc.) and developed the solution.

CSIR is one of the leading scientific and technology research, development and implementation organisations in Africa. It undertakes directed research and development for socio-economic growth. I worked for CSIR during my undergraduate degree and loved it. I got given some significant projects on which I was the lead researcher, one of which culminated in me presenting a paper at the PRASA Conference to an audiences of c. hundred industry experts in 2014. PRASA is responsible for funding research into the advancing pattern recognition field in South Africa, so my research on Big Data was focused on helping find ways through major pattern recognition challenges in South Africa. In 2014 my paper was one of only four selected from CSIR for presenting at the conference. The paper, Interactive Energy Consumption Visualisation is available at http://www.prasa.org/proceedings/2014/prasa2014-42.pdf
