  During my time as Deputy Head of Computer Science, I have been responsible for the operational management and day to day running of the department, its staff and students. My duties included:- • Provided leadership to the Apprenticeship Teaching Team and implemented new processes to help both learners and assessors keep track of their progress in addition to having my own caseload. • Conducting the appraisal process with members of the teaching team as well as carrying out observations. • Liaising with and organising school taster days and exhibiting at STEM careers events. • Interviewing prospective students and managing enrolment events. • The management of the Quality process within the team and liaising with Internal Quality Lead Verifiers and colleagues from external awarding bodies to ensure compliance with their requirements as well as adhering to internal and external policies and procedures. • Assisting the Head of Department with the preparation of the Self-Assessment Report and the Business Planning Process. • The completion of complex time tabling and liaison with CIS to ensure that data systems were up to date. • Chairing course team meetings, providing actions and monitoring progress • Arranging cover for both short and long term staff absences involving complex timetable changes • Providing advice and guidance to members of the teams who may require support with assessment ideas, issues with learners or any personal issues. • Attending Campus Managers Meetings. I have also worked hard to merge two departments, the Networking and Software Development Teams which are now working well together and have developed a supportive and respectful approach to working with each other.
