My work for BHTA Engage involves a variety of tasks. I write engaging news stories and magazine articles to post online on AT Today and THIIS as well as edit job articles to ensure all features read properly with correct punctuation, spelling, and grammar. The news and articles I write about are all related to the mobility and independent living industry or assistive technology, which ranges from in-depth research and important policy updates to new technologies and insightful thought-leadership interviews. My role involves networking with and interviewing people in order to find stories or articles to write about. I've worked closely with a design agency to develop AT Today's print publication. This involved directing the agency to lay out content in a certain way to execute my vision for the magazine's overall look, such as where imagery is placed on the page, what font to use, the overall magazine colour scheme, box copy, and more. I'm also responsible for mentoring BHTA Engage's Digital Marketing Officer, ensuring her work is consistent with the publications' in-house style, that the content is engaging and relevant for the respective audiences, and that the text is grammatically correct. I have strong familiarity with WordPress to manage and publish content, add adverts to the websites, add menus to the homepage, and set up plug-ins. I'm proficient with Google Analytics to evaluate website performance to ascertain which stories are generating the most interest, monitor audience trends, identify opportunities for content growith, and understand where traffic is coming from. My role involves social media scheduling through Tweetdeck, LinkedIn, and Meta Business Suite at specific dates and times. I know how to use MailChimp to send out weekly newsletters via email to dedicated subscribers. I have basic Photoshop skills, such as resizing images and removing backgrounds. Show less

My work at Falbros Media Group gave me experience in editing for different audiences, along with the opportunity to learn about WordPress and social media scheduling. My role involved editing a variety of online football articles in different styles, such as news pieces, player ratings and satirical opinion features. After scheduling the posts through WordPress, I used Buffer to schedule articles across different social media accounts according to our content strategy. I edited, wrote and researched as part of an internship at Britain's leading publisher of boating magazines. I summarised print articles into compelling online content. In addition, I proofread editorial for various magazines (including "Waterways World Annual", "NarrowBoat magazine and Canal Boating Times" newspaper) and edited articles according to the in-house style.
