Following the completion of my LLM Programme in September 2011, I took on the role as Business & Compliance Manager with The Healthcare Professional Services Ltd. Soon after, I became Managing Director of HCP Staffing Services Ltd. In this role, I hold responsibility for managing a recruitment agency that supplies the NHS and private healthcare organisations with a wide category of nursing and care staff, ensuring that nurse banks are effectively supported regarding their staffing needs. Currently, I lead a team of seven, overseeing operational goals, the induction programme; training and development; policies, processes, internal systems, recruitment and the complaints procedure. I also conduct comprehensive document reviews and distribute the information to the team. A large part of my role also involves coordinating with a diverse range of stakeholders and third-parties: families, social workers, commissioners, community nurses and agency workers on a daily basis; building and nurturing a strong, trusting relationship. I coordinate care packages for vulnerable children and adults requiring the staffing service. Furthermore, I lead quarterly meetings with NHS clients and am also the key contact for NMC investigation hearings, safeguarding meetings and client complaints; currently, I am the CQC Registered Manager for the nursing agency. Internally, I also manage all HR matters and liaise with various departments e.g. payroll, to ensure the smooth running of the business. I closely manage compliance, ensuring that all bookings are in line with the Government Agency Regulations under the NHS CPP Agency Nursing Framework and other regulatory guidelines.

Here, I independently researched and drafted new policies for T&A department to ensure that Amnesty remain loyal to their commitments under the INGO Accountability Charter and the Global Reporting Initiative. In so doing, I collaborated with management to inform other departments within the organisation about the aims of the T&A department; arranging several internal training sessions and ensuring feedback forms were completed. I consider my involvement in the promotion and expansion of the new ‘Feedback Mechanism’ one of my greatest achievements in this role. To facilitate this, I collaborated with heads of departments and encouraged staff to utilise the mechanism by circulating bulletins and liaising directly with a broad range of parties.
