  Utah College Advising Corps is a joint venture of the University of Utah and the College Advising Corps, and is an AmeriCorps program.Currently serves as the College Access Advisor at Hunter High School.- Provides one-on-one admissions and financial aid advice to any student of families seeking assistance (school population just over 2,000 students). Focused in on the best-fit college for the student; also aiding student and families in entire admissions process from applications, personal statements, financial aid forms, and scholarship opportunities.- Organizes group events that encourage students and their families to consider, plan for, and apply to colleges and universities.- Establishes productive working relationships with principals, counselors, teachers, and college access professionals in assigned high school.- Represents the Americorps program and the College Advising Corps.-Assists in assessment of the program by tracking each interaction with students and families.-Maintains expertise in admissions and financial aid advising.   Defining Your Path is a college access-driven program held in the Office of Engagement in the University of Utah. This program is specialized for students K-8 from low-income, low-opportunity, and diverse areas. - Provided field trip opportunities for over 6,000 kids in the duration of time in the program- Contributed over 2,000 hours of volunteer service hours- Assisted in planning large-scale events and volunteering for them, including: Granite Senior Day, Latinos In Action (LIA) Conference, and the Tri-Ute Leadership Conference- Created College 101 informational workshop presentations to explain the college-going process to students- Collaborated with multiple departments across the University of Utah campus- working closely with faculty members, staff, and students Show less
