I am the Instructional Technology Coordinator for CCSD 93 and have had many opportunities over the last couple of years to observe and work closely with Sarah and her use of digital tools and software in her classroom. I found her to be consistently pleasant, tackling all challenges with dedication and a smile. In addition to being an outstanding language arts teacher, she strives to develop 21st digital citizen skills both for herself and her students. This summer enrichment course is designed for gifted students who express interest in writing. As the instructor, my responsibilities included: syllabus/curriculum development; direct instruction in all modes of writing (expository, argumentative/persuasive, narrative, personal essay, amongst other creative modes); modeling of writing process and revision techniques; creating differentiated lessons/assignments; and helping each student to find and strengthen his/her unique writing 'voice'.
