Sarah-Louise was my line manager at Swizzels for over four years. I found Sarah-Louise to be a brilliant manager and marketing professional. She was a great mentor and support for me in my first "proper" marketing job, not least because of her huge wealth of experience but also because of her trust and encouragement in the creative ideas of me and others around her. Responsible for marketing Durex in the UK, managing a marketing team of 3 and leading the cross functional Durex business team. I reported to the Commercial Director. Role involved building consumer awareness of the Durex brand positioning as a 'sexual wellbeing' brans. Liaised with the sales and category teams to improve the distribution of Durex Play in mainstream distribution. Responsible for TV campaigns for Durex Play as well as PR and online activity. Durex Play lubes grew 29% and became the number 1 brand and Play Vibrations grew by 60% year on year. Condoms remain the core of the Durex business and my role involved leading inititives to encourage young people (16-24) to protect themselves. I also managed research projects and an online youth poster competition called Durexhibit to better understand young people's attitudes. TNS data showed Durex condom sales to young people grew during the activity. Show less

Initially I was responsible for the deep pan product range and from Sept '05 also took on responsibility for Goodfella's Delicia and the San Marco range. I was responsible for ensuring all the ranges delivered against the Goodfella's brand essence of "restaurant quality on your own home" and communicating the product improvements to consumers. Goodfella's share of the deep pan grew from 36% to 41.5% and the sector decline slowed.
