I taught ELL to grades 7-10 and Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language to grade 9 students. This consisted of teaching English to non-native speakers, and also being present in their Chemistry and Biology classes in order to modify the assignments such that the language barrier would not get in the way of their progress. Additionally, I taught Language Arts to grades 6-8 and IGCSE Second Language to 9th grade students. I also led MUN and offered a Yoga and Meditation group. Additionally, I was a member in The Green & The Student Support CIS Committees. In MUN, I Led trips with students to attend the following MUN conferences: Enka Youth Forum, October 4-7th, 2013; Istanbul, Turkey MunoM (Model United Nations of Munich) November 11th-15th; Munich, Germany GeMUN (Genoa Model United Nations) February 20-22nd; Genoa, Italy RCIMUN (Robert College International Model United Nations), April 2014; Istanbul, Turkey Show less

I organized and planned while on site in Vita Levu, Fiji a community summer service trip for 10 high school students. We stayed in a small seaside village and built a house in the community. We also worked in Suva with Habitat for Humanity. In addition, we did landscaping at a women's shelter, taught at a local middle school, and also taught English to students with special needs. I also organized a trip with The Red Cross into an underdeveloped, remote village in the interior of the main island. We built covering for the frames of their houses. Show less

I taught Language Arts to grades 6-8 and designed my curriculum. I also taught ESL to 6th graders and led a nature club that went on overnight hiking trips. In the nature club, the students focused on the Fern-Flora of Mussoorie in the Himalayas. From hours on the field, the students created a digital book of numerous ferns which was inspired by an old (and falling apart) book with actual ferns from the area (pasted inside) that a scientist created years before.
