Practical skills: phlebotomy and cannulation, interpretation of blood results; performing and interpreting ABG’s and ECG’s; x-ray interpretation and basic CT and MRI findings; administering oxygen therapy, basic and immediate life support; NG tube insertion; male and female catheterisation and suturing. Under supervision of the neurosurgical team: performed lumbar punctures, collected CSF samples from extra-ventricular drains (EVD’s), removed EVD’s when CSF circulation had been restored and sutured the defect.
