Director - Bold Street Consulting
-
Jan 2013 - Dec 2016
Bold Street Consulting undertook research, evaluation, and consultancy services for the voluntary and public sectors, using a variety of general and specific skills to benefit our clients. This included:• An understanding of the public and voluntary sectors, particularly in Wales.• A relaxed and friendly approach that gets the best out of everyone involved.• Excellent communication skills.• Clear report writing, tailored to suit different audiences and requirements.• An external and independent perspective to help you to see issues clearly. We helped organisations to evaluate projects, to research new ideas, and to gather the views of stakeholders. We helped clients to find out what was working, determine strengths and weakness and, perhaps most importantly, measure the impact they had on the people they worked with. As the Director of Bold Street Consulting. Sarah’s key skills included connecting with people, dealing effectively with large amounts of qualitative information, and translating the findings of her research into clear and accessible reports.

It also included dealing with Assembly procedures, including written and oral questions, ministerial correspondence, and ministerial briefings and submissions. The role also involved work with stakeholders in the mid Wales region to ensure that they were linked in to the Welsh Government when planning their economic development policies, and delivering subsequent projects. Senior Consultant
-
Sep 2004 - Dec 2007
Wavehill Consulting is a well-established company, evaluating and advising on both rural and urban regeneration initiatives. My role at Wavehill was: to take lead responsibility for the evaluation of European and Government funded projects; to undertake research and interviews for a range of projects; and to prepare performance measurement frameworks. This involved working with a range of clients at the strategic level, as well as beneficiaries (many of whom were socially excluded) at the delivery level. Whilst at Wavehill, I worked with a range of different organisations, including a number of county and borough councils, transnational arts organisations, regeneration organisations, county voluntary sector councils, and the Wales Council for Voluntary Action.
