Sarah help prepare the package and underwriting on multi-family apartment deal we closed with Associated Bank. From start to finish, Sarah was very comprehensive in researching the property, and worked with me to get everything in order to present our package for committee approval. She is a great person to work with and follows up, and follows through on all her commitments. I would highly recommend working with Sarah on your commercial Real Estate deals.

I took on increased responsibility within the Commercial Real Estate group at Bank of America, which had acquired LaSalle National Bank in 2007. I was promoted from Loan Officer to Assistant Vice President and ultimately named Vice President within the Commercial Real Estate Lending Group as the 2008 financial crisis hit. Leveraging my experience in Commercial Real Estate, I transitioned to the Special Assets Group to work with clients and manage a severely distressed real estate loan portfolio in the wake of the financial crisis. In this role, I gained exposure to "the full cycle" of a loan portfolio as I worked with struggling companies and business owners to mitigate and prevent commercial real estate loan portfolio losses during the worst economic crisis since the great depression. This experience was "character building" and provided a once in a lifetime perspective to witness such a severe and challenging economic down cycle. In this role, I: - Assisted in managing commercial real estate portfolio totaling $400 million of distressed debt - Negotiated terms and documents with borrowers for loan settlements, resolutions, and note sales - Calculated loan charge-offs used in determining bank capital requirements - Completed periodic bank reporting, including quarterly reviews of troubled loans and validation of bank risk ratings - Acted as a key liaison to communicate pertinent project and sponsor information to bank groups for large syndicated real estate transactions Show less

Ultimately, I chose to pursue a path in commercial real estatel - From 2005-2008, I advanced from a Credit Analyst to Loan Associate (lender), Loan Officer to Assistant Vice President and Banker within the Commercial Real Estate Banking Division - Starting with credit and cash flow lending principles, I learned how to evaluate and analyse commercial real estate loan sand gain exposure to the commercial real estate market. - Took on increasingly more responsibility that started with analysis, spreading financial statements and preparing credit approval packages and progressed to handling more and more aspects of commercial loan transactions including negotiating terms and documents, loan syndications, relationship management and sales and workouts.
