      Performed work on the exhibition Manet to Maya Lin (the feature exhibition for the summer of 2018), a transhistorical art exhibition with a curatorial premise integrating learning theory. Artists included Maya Lin, Masahisa Fukase, Mark Rothko, Joan Mitchell, Vincent van Gogh, Willem de Kooning, Édouard Manet, and Petah Coyne, among others, which opened in June 2018. Tasks performed specifically for Manet to Maya Lin: • Researched the entirety of the exhibition. • Contributed to the development of the overall theme, design, and concept of the exhibition. • Wrote all of the object labels for the exhibition. • Presented an hour-long lecture hall presentation on my research in order to train docent corps and visitor services for Manet to Maya Lin. • Conducted a two-hour walk-through presentation of the exhibition in order to provide in-depth training to docent corps. • Worked with the Education Department to create teaching, learning, and interpretation plans for in-gallery educators and docents. In addition to tasks performed specifically for Manet to Maya Lin: • Researched the permanent collection, the history of each piece, and its provenance, in order to determine the manner in which each work fit within the scope of the history and vision of the Nevada Museum of Art. • Prepared deaccession proposals, tasks including researched the backgrounds of the artists, as well as the estimated market value based on the sale of comparable works by the same artist. The proposals went before the Collections Committee for approval and were subsequently approved. Show less
