• Brand management - direction of the V&A’s corporate marketing strategy including responsibility for all brand marketing. • Direction of fully integrated marketing campaigns - responsibility for advertising campaigns, including media buying decisions and creative concepts, overseeing the Museum’s relationship marketing strategy, the strategic development of sales promotions and the effective use of the V&A’s website as a marketing tool. Oversaw the marketing campaign for the V&A’s new British Galleries in November 2001, which achieved record visitor levels for the Museum. • Strategic development of the V&A’s creative partnerships - initiated relationships with commercial and media partners to leverage the V&A brand. • Direction of the V&A’s market research strategy - included responsibility for an audience development strategy and for agreeing specific audience targets with DCMS. • Initiation of a European and US communication strategy - integrated approach across all media targeting both consumers and the travel trade. Launched a three-year campaign of activity to increase the number of people arriving in tourist groups at the Museum. • Launch of an internal communications programme across all Museum sites. • Departmental management - management of a marketing budget of £750k per annum and for the appointment of a wide range of agencies and consultants. • Regular speaker at industry conferences - represented the V&A on external committees and boards including ALVA and Walpole.
