Sarah joined RCVS Knowledge in April 2015 as Fundraising Executive and we worked together until I left in December that year. At the time, fundraising was undergoing a significant change as the charity was embarking on a period of growth to fulfil its new role. Although at the beginning of her fundraising career, Sarah’s instinct and intelligence stood out and I felt her confident and easy-going manner would be a tremendous asset in relationship management as we sought to grow our supporter-base. In our time together, Sarah brought a thoughtful approach and great fundraising instinct to her role, combined with a drive and initiative to work independently – a great asset in a small team - and courage to start a conversation with a prospective partner, either over the phone or face to face – something not every fundraiser is easy with. It speaks to her willingness to undertake responsibility that, after our brief time together and her short time in fundraising, she boldly stepped up after my departure which does her further credit. Sarah was a great ambassador for the organisation and a delight to work with. I’m sorry our time together wasn’t longer. I felt, with her thoughtfulness and drive, if she chose it, Sarah had a successful career as a fundraiser ahead of her and would be an asset to any organisation she worked for.
