I am responsible for issuing authorizations (purchase orders) for evaluations as well as devices. I have the authority to release payment once all mandatory paperwork has been submitted and deemed correct. I assist in locating places to work for high school student that gives them on the job training before they graduate high school. I collect data and records of applicants that are used to show evidence of a diagnosed disability. Records are extremely important in the determination of the participant's strengths, barriers, interests, and other useful characteristics. There are individuals that are not ready or not appropriate for our services even with a diagnosis disability, and when this happens I have the responsibility to discuss with the counselor my observation(if the counselor doesn't mention to me first). I am responsible for scanning the documentation for each participant every day to maintain the DRS paperless policy. My responsibility to stay in close contact with medical staff, educators, clinicians, vocational specialists, and general providers is demanding but important aspects to my field of work. I work closely with professionals as well as participants to offer quality care and to empower the participants with the help of the professionals. My responsibility is to connect the professional and participant together and give both parties the knowledge to successful complete the task. Plus additional responsibilities as needed. Show less

I was responsible for assisting first generation college students, low-income, or students with disabilities achieve a bachelors degree from NWOSU. The Federal grant is called Student Support Services (SSS) and it is a 5 year program. I was employed during the first year of implementation at NWOSU. I was responsible for recruiting 70 students, assisting the students with any concern or issues that would inhibit their primary goal of graduating with a bachelors degree.I was responsible for working with the students to create a goal decision making sheet and build a plan of study so they could graduate on time. Also students could arrange math and English tutoring within SSS. We employed student coaches and monitored the student interaction as well as progress in classes and generally on campus. Fostered a supportive and encouraging environment. SSS offered bi-weekly workshops for students where they learned about financial literacy, diversity, anxiety/stress management, prioritizing, self-care, and many other topics that a college student would find useful.I worked with SSS participating students to get them the resources and tools needed to be successful at NWOSU and after college.
