Currently finishing up my graduate studies at the University at Buffalo in the lab of Dr. Marc Halfon. We use the lowly fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster to better understand gene regulation as it relates to development. My thesis work focuses on the RAS/MAPK signaling pathway that causes founder cells to be specified from naive myoblasts and how this process differs between muscle types.
