      AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) strengthens communities and develops leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. AmeriCorps NCCC members serve for a 10-month commitment in teams of 8 to 12 and are assigned to projects throughout the region served by their campus. My team and I cleared 8 acers of invasive species and underbrush (all together we moved 20,000 pounds), handmade 12 rock walls, leveled out 10 picnic tables, painted two houses, a cabin, and a community center, bagged almost 100 bags of leaves, picked up 10 pounds of trash, and stained 18 disk golf poles. Round 2: University of Missouri Extension, Kansas City, MO. •Worked collaboratively as part of a 10 person team to provide free income tax preparation for low income families who make $53,000 or less. •Completed 1,216 federal tax returns and 1,963 state returns, giving back 1.3 million dollars to the community. Project three A – Boys and Girls Club or McAlester, McAlester, OK. •Helped make improvements to the facilities and interior of the Boys and Girls Club. •Served as a teacher and mentor for youth ages 5-14 during the after school program. Project three B – Little Dixie Community Action Agency Inc. Hugo, OK. •Renovated several Head Start and Early Head Start facilities. •Learned how to properly use power tools. Project three C – Habitat For Humanity, Oklahoma City, OK. •Provided assistance for all aspects of the building process for new homes. •Worked with tornado victims by providing disaster relief.

      Camp Korey is a part of the SeriousFun Children's Network. SeriousFun is a non-profit organization that Paul Newman Started for seriously ill and disabled children. This program guarantees that these campers get to go to camp for free and reach beyond their illness and open a world of possibilities. Program Counselors design, plan, and facilitate intentional programs in activity areas For the summer of 2014, My Co-Group and I ran the Arts and Crafts Program. Program Counselors are expected to execute engaging, inclusive programming that is age-appropriate, safe, and fun. Program Counselors also run All-Camp activities such as Stage Night, Campfire, Carnival, and other group activities. They are assigned to work with a specific cabin when they are not running program areas or All Camp activities.
