One of the greatest challenges with respect to trade policy is addressing issues surrounding inequality of income and opportunity. Together in a team of 5, we conducted our capstone Policy Analysis Exercise in conjunction with APEC to research the links between trade, employment and inequality in APEC economies. I had the opportunity at the CMC to design and teach a course in Media and Communication strategies. The module incorporated techniques to craft and deliver messages effectively in the different forms of media, by allowing them to harness the advantages of each medium. The course was designed to equip students with the knowledge, strategies and confidence to become "media ready" by the end of the duration of the module. In addition to teaching Media and Comms, I also: • Taught a module in Community Development (topics included consensus building and facilitation, with hands-on projects in the Cambridge community). • Was Regular commentator on BBC Radio 1 to discuss issues concerning the British Muslim community. • Led training program for four rounds of new recruits to the Cambridge Auxiliary Police Force.
