Due to the downturn in the Oil & Gas Industry, I decided to take voluntary redundancy from my role at Subsea 7 in Aberdeen. I took this opportunity to do some travelling and spent a few months in Australia, before returning home to the Highlands in Scotland. During this period I completed an online course over ten weeks titled "Our Energy Future" by University of California San Diego on Coursera.
