Sep 2001 - Apr 2006
The Ferncumbe C of E Primary School Warwick England; I was appointed Acting Head in Sept 2001(the substantive head was on long term sick leave.) I became substantive Head in May 2002. I found the school to be in some difficulties and began building a new staff team. We put in place a variety of special measures assisted by the L.E.A. As a result the school passed a national inspection and went on to grow and thrive. Ferncumbe became valued in the local community and more than doubled in size in just two years. Under my leadership it developed a very supportive set of governors and parent body. The curriculum was thoroughly reviewed and the school won praise for its’ inclusive approach to special needs, provision for mixed -age teaching, and multicultural activity. Show less
