My position at Children's Speech and Hearing Specialists has afforded me a wonderful experience working with children with a wide range of communication and social challenges and their families. At CSHS, I provide individual speech and language therapy to children with developmental delay, autism spectrum disorders, language impairment, and articulation disorders. To promote carryover of skills into the home and community and improve patient care, I routinely collaborate with families and colleagues. One of the most interesting parts of my position is to be able to delve deep into children's speech and language skills through evaluation. Show less

While working at Nashoba Learning Group, I had the opportunity to consult with different levels of professionals regarding the speech and language programs for individuals with autism. At Nashoba, I significantly built my knowledge and passion for Augmentative/Alternative Communication. It was eye opening to see the positive changes when appropriate and effective strategies were provided to students. While at Nashoba, I consulted with fellow SLPs around supporting vocabulary skills of children who use AAC. Show less

During my 13 years with the Natick Public Schools, I worked with preschool to elementary school students with a variety of communication and social challenges. Collaborating with teachers and related service providers afforded me the opportunity to promote students' success in accessing the curriculum. In Natick I served as an integral member of the Special Education Team, composed IEPs, wrote progress reports, and composed evaluation reports in accordance with state and federal guidelines. One of my most challenging and rewarding experiences while working for Natick, was providing speech and language services for children with autism in substantially separate classrooms. Show less

While employed at Confidence Connection, I had the great opportunity to see the relationship between behavior analysis and speech and language development. I designed and led small social pragmatics group utilizing Social Thinking principles as well as ABA. I directly mentored graduate clinicians and behavior technicians to effectively lead social groups. Working with families and clients was quite rewarding as it allowed me to counsel parents around carryover.
