      TPE 1: Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning From August 2022-December 2022, I worked as a long-term substitute teacher for a 7th-grade Science class. During this time, I successfully created healthy relationships with my students as well as helping to foster relationships with each other. I worked with the students in their roles in the student council in helping to build a classroom and school-wide community. I maintained ongoing communication through emails, google classroom, google chat, back-to-school night, parent conferences-student led, and phone calls. In the classroom, I created a safe learning environment that was inclusive to all who entered. I learned how to differentiate the instruction and include Universal Design for Learning principles to match students learning abilities and needs. With the subject of science, it was easy to connect the subject matter to real life to help engage students. TPE 2: Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments for Student Learning As a long-term substitute, I was given countless opportunities to work with my students to help promote their Social Emotional Learning. I established and posted clear expectations for positive classroom behavior. I developed a rapport with students built on respect and trust. Students were treated fairly and positive behavior was rewarded, and challenging behavior was addressed kindly.
