During my PhD Thesis, I have been focused on the identification of genetic markers associated with treatment efficacy and chemotherapy-induced toxicities, with special attention to childhood, breast and colorectal cancers. Being at the Human Genotyping-CEGEN Unit at CNIO has allowed me to acquire an extensive experience in omics data analysis (GWAS, WES, Targeted next-generation sequencing, exome-array) . While some of those experiences have been based on wet lab procedures, I also made a summer internship in Prof. Douglas Easton Lab (Department of Public Health and Primary Care and Oncology, Strangeways Research Laboratory, University of Cambridge), one of the leading groups in developing statistical methodologies and new studies based on resequencing, large-scale follow-up and fine-scale mapping to study rare variants and cancer susceptibility; where I acquired bioinformatic skills which has also allowed me to analyze and interpret biological data during my PhD Show less
