Qal-Tek is a small privately owned business that preforms a wide variety of radiological services. As a Radiation Source Disposal Specialist, I break down radioactive devices, retrieve the radioactive source/s and dispose or recycle all non-radioactive material. Every six months I preform a detailed inventory on all sources that are on the facility per NRC regulations. I also preform routine leak test and area contamination surveys. Source tracking and locating are among many other tasks that are preformed.

I have worked for two different nuclear contracting companies Day & Zimmermann and BHI Energy (formerly known as Bartlett Nuclear INC.). I first started working different nuclear outages in 2009 and have worked at 5 different nuclear power corporations on 12 different reactor outage periods since. I have had experience working with different operators on different plant components preforming a multitude of different tasks. I have worked as a Radiation Technician, Fire-watch Technician, Decontamination Technician, Radiation Worker, Foreign Material Exclusion Technician, Logistics/Administrative Assistant, Steam Generator Support Team Decontamination Technician, and Foreign Material Exclusion Supervisor during my time with BHI Energy and Day and Zimmerman.
