      In 2012 I travelled to Papua New Guinea for the first time at the invitation of Churches of Christ leaders in remote villages of the Keram River area. I was shocked to hear the stories of so many mothers and babies dying due to a lack of health services in the area. I knew that with some simple teaching and resources I could at least encourage the Village Birth Attendants in their endeavours to save lives.
