  With the search for renewable energy growing, the Nanocrystal Solar Lab at Drexel Univeristy explores the usefulness of Perovskites in solar technology. Perovskites are a recently discovered material, yet show promises of outperforming popularized silicon solar cells. Nickle Oxide has been researched as a material to be used in the creation of a solar cell, allowing the maximum amount of sunlight to interact with the solar cell and prevent the electricity created from being lost.
