    • Executive Director
      • 1998 - May 2000

CCC was an independent, state-licensed, non-profit Day Care and Summer Camp program for K-6th grades, with 100-150 students, on the site of Regnart Elementary School in Cupertino. I worked there while attending college as a full time student. As Executive Director, I was entirely in charge of operations, with the support of a Board of Directors. I managed a considerable budget, hired and fired, did all of the accounts payable and receivable, handled advertising, planned and facilitated programs and operations, worked with State Licensing in the accreditation process, Department of Social Services, and the administrators at the school site that we operated on, ensured that our center was adhering to State Licensing Requirements at all times, planned and implemented summer camp, coordinated with vendors who taught some of our camps, and designed and published program brochures and other materials. When I graduated from college and was ready to began my career as an Elementary Teacher, I wanted to make sure to leave the center in good hands, so I hired my own replacement and spent two months training her while I went through my last semester of college and worked in the San Jose State University Lab Preschool as part of my student teaching. Having such a demanding career at a young age meant that graduating from college took me longer than I had originally planned, but the work experience I gained was priceless, and has shaped my entire career.
