I am writing this recommendation for Sanne Pfefferkorn in my capacity of former lecturer and tutor in Sanne's teacher training. I am a member of the ITEps teaching staff (International Teacher Education in primary schools, part of NHL-Stenden University, The Netherlands). Sanne started her teacher training in September 2014. In her first year I was Sanne’s tutor as well as her lecturer for English language. Her valuable contributions in class, as well as her professional behaviour as a student towards me and her fellow students, were apparent. When I visited her in a local Dutch primary school doing her first teaching practice it was already clear that Sanne is capable of building strong relationships with children necessary for a safe and healthy learning environment. It also became clear that Sanne is a careful teacher, taking into consideration every individual child’s needs. This is remarkable in a first year student. In her third year I had the pleasure of visiting Sanne again during teaching practice, this time in an international school in Belgium. I was pleasantly surprised that she had prepared to carry out a science experiment with the children. It was quite a challenging task to carry out when she knew that she was going to be observed, but Sanne is not afraid to step out of her comfort zone. The experiment was a great success, Sanne managed to make it an unforgettable learning experience for the pupils, making sure that every individual child was taking part and challenged to the full. It was a pleasure to witness. Summarising I can say that in my opinion Sanne is going to be a wonderful teacher, she is kind, friendly, enthusiastic and approachable. She is responsible and trustworthy, has high standards both for herself and for the pupils. Her reflection skills are great, she is able to reflect on her teaching behaviour and make the necessary adjustments. She is interculturally competent with an eye for pupils with different cultural backgrounds. She makes me proud. Drs Carolien Faber-Smith NHL-Stenden University, The Netherlands

It is an absolute pleasure working alongside Sanne in the Pre-K classrooms at the International School of Brussels. She is an enthusiastic, open-minded, and passionate teacher who has a natural ability to work well in team situations. Sanne’s positivity and vibrant personality creates strong relationships between her and the children and their families, as well as her colleagues. Sanne’s bold and creative flair helps build engaging and rich learning experiences for the children across all learning domains. I would highly recommend Sanne in an early childhood classroom at any international school.

I am very excited about a new opportunity that came up this school year for me: I am a peer evaluator for MSA and I will join different teams that conduct accreditation visits for international schools. As a member of visiting teams, I'll do my best to provide an important service to the host school and simultaneously gain professional knowledge that can assist my own school's improvement efforts. So far, I have been part of 2 visits to international schools. During this school year, I learned alongside 3 and 4 year olds as their homeroom teacher. In a play-based and inquiry oriented classroom we learned about what it means to be part of a community, got to know various emotions, asked many questions and tried to find answers ourselves through projects and followed up on our curiosities. Moreover, we spent 3 months of this school year in our own homes, connecting through Zoom with each other. Our daily morning meetings where we sang, read stories, danced, did yoga or played games, or our group play-dates in the afternoon, and individual meetings strengthened our relationship in a way I never imagined it could.I am incredibly proud of my students and their amazing growth throughout this year.

The final teaching practice of my studies (ITEps) takes place at the elementary school of CAC. As a student teacher in the PreK classroom, I am learning about the Reggio Emilia approach and early years education in a hands-on and collaborative way. Additionally, my bachelor thesis research will be carried out during this time. The final teaching practice of my studies (ITEps) takes place at the elementary school of CAC. Just like last year, I am promoting the new electric bicycles from Gazelle during events and at local bicycle shops in the Netherlands. Giving explanations and opportunities to test-drive the bikes, enthusiast people and advising are the key-points (no sales but sales support). The bikes are getting presented mostly at weekends during Spring, it is therefore a seasonally job. - Target group 40+ - language of job: Dutch Just like last year, I am promoting the new electric bicycles from Gazelle during events and at local bicycle shops in the Netherlands. Working for 9 weeks at PREM in Chiang Mai as a student teacher in my second year was very exciting and educational. Getting more into the rhythm of what it means to be a teacher and assisting the children over an extended period of time definitely fostered my development drastically. In addition, I was working in Junior Boarding where my organizational skills were asked. Getting the children ready in the morning and guiding them through the afternoon were shared tasks between me and my peer student. Overall my experience in Grade 2 (7-8 years old) were the following: - conducting whole morning sessions - leading focus group-works - one-to-one session - lesson planning - chaperoning a field-trip - conducting weekly phonics lessons

Since my study is not only meant for international primary schools but also aimed for the Dutch educational system, I got the opportunity to collect experiences at a Dutch school as well. Needless to say that it was a whole new world compared to the international environment but nevertheless very valuable for me. I spent four single weeks, spread across my second semester (of my first year of study), at that particular school in group 7 (children are 10/11 years old) and could experience the following: - giving daily lessons (feedback from my mentor afterwards) - starting the day (classroom management during lesson transitions) - observing my mentor - preparing lesson materials - chaperone at a three day school camp

I was very fortunate to work with this company. Since I am 15 years old I could work there each summer for a month and had then the opportunity to work there for an extended period of time. Between coming back from the US and starting my studies in the Netherlands, was time to be used and new experiences to be gained. I was officially working in the office and helped wherever I could. This made me come out of my comfort zone various times on a regular basis. However this developed my professional skills, teamwork abilities and determination remarkably. My tasks were very flexible, including for example: - Customer service on the phone - Accounting and supervision of cash from the cash registers - Accountants audit - Planning festivities of the company - marketing tasks (e.g newsletters) - cashier (3 weeks)
