I practiced almost exclusively in personal injury law as a member of the firm's ICBC Injury Claims and Bodily Injury groups. I represented clients with chronic pain, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic injuries, and psychological injuries resulting from all types of accidents. I also gained trial experience in the Supreme Court of British Columbia (both judge alone and jury trials) and I appeared as counsel in the British Columbia Provincial Court, Supreme Court Chambers and before the Workers' Compensation Appeal Tribunal. Working on the plaintiff side, I took a hands-on approach to all files, such that I was involved at every stage of the process—from the administration of medical and rehabilitation benefits prior to the commencement of litigation, all the way to successfully resolving claims by way of trial, negotiation or mediation. In addition, I presented at professional development seminars for the insurance industry in both Calgary and Vancouver (for 100+ attendees). I was also an invited speaker on a local radio show to discuss personal injury topics. Show less
